Chiropractic Care Helps Athletes Prevent And Recover From Injuries

It’s estimated that 90% of professional athletes seek chiropractic care to improve their performance, prevent injury, and recover faster.

All sports involve impact to the joints of the body in some repetitive form, ultimately leading to stress on the structures and tissues involved.

The accumulation of these stressors eventually leads to injury, but before that is the case they hinder an athlete’s ability to perform at their highest capability.

One study by the BMC involving rugby players concluded “a trend towards lower limb injury prevention with a significant reduction in primary lower limb muscle strains and weeks missed due to non-contact knee injuries through the addition of a sports chiropractic intervention to the current best practice management.”

These benefits should not be reserved solely for pro-athletes, but would in essence be best initiated with the adolescent athlete in order to prevent injuries in the first place.

Starting care in your 20’s, 30’s or 40’s is very effective, but starting in your adolescence can help avoid the long-term injuries that often fly under the radar. If gone undetected, these injuries become something that can force you to stop participating in the sport you love.
